About Mandi

Who am I?

Health and fitness has been part of who I am for my entire life! My childhood was extremely active - I participated in any sport I could fit into my schedule including hockey, cross country, track and field, soccer and field hockey. My athletic career earned me a Cross Country and Track Scholarship in the great white North at Lake Superior State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Associates in Health Fitness, but this was just the beginning!

My passion and interest in the area of health and fitness sparked a desire to continue to develop my expertise in  the field.

Most recently I have completed training in the world of breath and cold exposure. I received my Level I Sherpa Breath and Cold, as well as my Level I with Unbounded. Prior to my newest venture and passion I completed courses such as Misfit Method, Bellies Inc Core Expert Certification, Hypopressives Level I and II, Yoga Tune Up training, Pfilates Certification, Senior Fitness Instructor Certification and countless educational workshops.

On a more personal level, I am also a mom of 3 healthy little humans and a wife of an incredibly supportive man. Family means everything to me and without them I could not be doing what I do! In my spare time I love to enjoy the outdoors and running continues to be my happy place. I also continue to participate in other sports as a form of social and physical outlet!

I’m introverted but I’m always up for trying new things, I’m a little quirky, I tend to overthink things, I have a sweet tooth, I love word games, I’m competitive, and I really care.  As I near my 40’s, I’m learning that less is more, simple doesn’t necessarily mean easy, and doing things that actually work for my family and I is more important than doing the things I think I “should.” I’ve always been passionate about helping others and this has lent itself well in my nursing career as well as in the health and wellness field.  

Why I love movement: To me, movement is like any relationship- you get out what you put in. I choose to put into this relationship in one shape or form daily because it fuels me and makes me feel alive. Throughout my life movement has allowed me express myself when words fail, has helped me grow by pushing me beyond my comfort zone and has given me a sense of peace and purpose.  

Favourite thing about being an instructor: I love helping people reframe their mindset. The smile and light I see in a client’s eyes when they realize they CAN lift heavier, they CAN start a movement program, they CAN do anything they set their mind to, is simply the best.

I have a passion for staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle, which fuels my energy and enthusiasm in everyday life. I deeply value my family and friends; their support and companionship are central to who I am. I value hard work and dedication, believing that they are key to both personal success and contributing positively to others’ lives. I’m also dedicated to helping others find health and happiness, believing that everyone deserves to lead a fulfilling life. These values and connections shape my choices and drive me to contribute positively to the world around me.

I thrive on staying active, as it brings me joy, balance, and a deeper appreciation for what my body can do when challenged. Instructing has been a passion of mine for 26 years. I love seeing individuals gain an enhanced confidence , get stronger, and making positive changes in their lives.

Credentials:

I have been teaching fitness classes since 1999 and became a personal trainer in 2001. 

Since then I have attended many conferences and certification programs, including Reebok Spin, Pilates, Kettlebell AMPD, advanced step workshops and many, many more. Fitness is an ever evolving industry and I have loved growing and changing with it over the years.
